Fishing Bio
Like everyone in his famous fishing family, Troy spent his youthful summers paying his dues at the In-Fisherman Communications Network. He cleaned boats, wrangled photo shoots, logged in television field tapes, and organized slides and photos for the editorial department. He even spent time as a cameraman on the PWT Professional Walleye Trail. So like the rest of the gang, he cut his baby teeth on the handle of a fishing rod or a camera bag.
Over the years filming and fishing side-by-side with his legendary father, Al Lindner, Troy has fished and filmed all over the world. He has caught barramundi in Australia and peacock bass in Hawaii. He has caught big saltwater calico bass from the kelp beds off California, as well as chasing trophy halibut and grayling in Alaska and giant pike in Canada’s Northwest Territories, plus just about everywhere else in between.
Today Troy is an active member of the Angling Edge gang (we don’t call them staff). Each year he, like everyone else at Lindner Media, contributes a segment or two to the season’s offerings. Plus he does his own Fit4Fishing program that appears on TV, fishing magazines and of course the Internet. Here he helps anglers keep in shape both physically and nutritionally with an ongoing series of easy-to-do useful tips.
For the past five years, Troy has hunkered down and has been hitting the local west coast bass tournament trails more seriously. During this short time, he has amassed over 30 wins, including 3 tour championships, and an incredible streak of seven wins in a row on famed Castaic Lake. Qualifying through local, state and regional tournaments over the course of two years, he made it to the FLW Bass Federation National Championship representing the state of California. Troy also has over a dozen tournament big bass awards as well.
After an auto accident and surgery to repair discs in his back, Troy took as short hiatus but he is back with a vengeance and looks to continue the success in 2012. Along with his usual run of west coast tournaments circuits, he plans to fish some of the events on the FLW Western Everstart Series and the very prestigious Western Outdoor News US Open on Lake Mead, and perhaps step up to a full-time touring pro.
